Cherry Blossom, near Markinch, Fife

It’s been a long, cold spring this year, but at long last, we’re seeing a glimpse of summer just around the corner! This cherry tree in a garden near Markinch has brightened our walk to St Drostan’s cemetery, where our son Joel was buried just two months ago. One of our Irish friends, Alan Bartley, recently reminded us of the very apt answer given by old Mrs Milligan when told about one of her dear ones, who was also called home without warning. She said: “Sudden death is sudden glory!” What a comfort to know that we’ll meet again.
